Coimbatore, Aug 01: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today declined to comment on NHRC petitioning supreme court for a fresh trial outside his state in the controversial `Best Bakery` case.
Coimbatore, Aug 01: Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today declined to comment on NHRC petitioning supreme court for a fresh trial outside his state in the controversial "Best Bakery" case.
"No comments. I will not react at all. Whichever way you put questions to me i will not comment," Modi said, when reporters repeatedly asked him on the issue, at a press conference here.
"These are supreme and democratic institutions and I like to respect all these institutions," Modi said.

When brought to his notice that the affected persons in Gujarat had alleged that they cannot expect a fair trial and would not get justice in Gujarat, he said "I am sure chief minister is not conducting the trial and it is not cm's job."
"This is a matter of judiciary, which should be respected," he said.
To another question on allegations that he was the root cause of riots in the state, Modi said a commission was conducting an inquiry and "let commission decide the matter."
