Islamabad, July 4: Besides holding talks with President Pervez Musharraf and top military officials, British defence secretary Geoff Hoon also met Pakistan's ISI chief Lt Gen Eshanul Haq before embarking for New Delhi. Hoon met the ISI chief and held talks with him before going over to New Delhi for talks with Indian leaders, the Dawn daily reported but did not give any details.
Diplomatic sources here believe Hoon's talks with Haq focussed on the situation at the LoC.
Hoon yesterday held talks with Musharraf, minister of state for foreign affairs Inamul Haq, chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Vice Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Pakistan's navy before leaving for New Delhi.
Hoon's meeting with the ISI chief assumes significance as external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha accused Musharraf of reneging on his commitment to stop infiltration of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Bureau Report
