Chennai, Sept 27: The organising committee of the inaugural Afro-Asian games to be held next month has proposed to shift six league stage football matches from Hyderabad to Chennai as their scheduled venue would not be available due to the opening ceremony. Chennai has been considered as the alternative venue due to its proximity to Hyderabad and the organising committee of the games is said to have expressed its desire to shift one set of group matches from the Andhra Pradesh capital. Visswanathan said the six matches would be held in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here, if the Asian Football Confederation acceded to the proposal. Bureau report
