Ninth Indo-Nepal customs cooperation meeting begins
Kathmandu, Nov 27: In order to strengthen customs cooperation between the two countries, a meeting of Indian and Nepalese officials began here today to discuss ways to control smuggling, illegal trade and drug trafficking.
Kathmandu, Nov 27: In order to strengthen customs cooperation between the two countries, a meeting of Indian and Nepalese officials began here today to discuss ways to control smuggling, illegal trade and drug trafficking.
The three-day ninth director general level meeting on
customs cooperation between Nepal and India will also suggest
measures to simplify customs procedures and ways to reform the
customs mechanism of the two countries in order to promote
Indo-Nepal trade.
The Indian delegation will be led by A P Sudhir, DG, Department of Revenue intelligence while the Nepalese side will be led by Krishnahari Banskota, DG, Department of Customs of Nepal. The delegates will also discuss problems facing the customs departments of Nepal and India and suggest ways to improve them, according to an official at the Department of Revenue Intelligence.
