Hyderabad, Sept 10: Senior TDP legislator and former Minister C Krishna Yadav, who was arrested in a multi-crore stamp paper racket case, would soon be expelled from the party, TDP sources said. Yadav, who is now in police custody in Pune, will soon be expelled from TDP as party leadership has taken a serious note of his role in the Rs 3,000 crore scandal spread over several states with wider financial ramifications, TDP sources said.

A two-time legislator representing Himayatnagar constituency in the city, Yadav has been suspended from TDP soon after his arrest by Maharashtra Police over the week-end. "We are rudely shaken by this development. We need to purge the party of such elements," they said.

His arrest has dealt a blow to the ruling party's image in Andhra Pradesh, triggering fears that some more partymen might be involved in the scam. The political embarrassment has come at a time when TDP is gearing up for a week-long mass contact programme 'Intintiki TDP' (TDP at your doorsteps) commencing on Sept 12 to highlight the government's developmental programmes.

It has now emerged that Yadav was allegedly in touch with the scamster and was striking the shady deals while being a minister in the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet in 1999.
