London, Dec 01: Arch rivals India and Pakistan will be in the same group along with minnows Kenya for the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in England in September 2004. The match up was confirmed today when Pakistan recorded a 124-run victory over New Zealand in the second one-day international at Lahore.
In a release issued yesterday, the international cricket council had confirmed that Pakistan would take the third spot in the official ICC ODI rankings if it defeats the Kiwis today.
According to the draw of the tournament, which is based on the official ODI rankings for the first time in the history of the event, third-place Pakistan is clubbed with sixth placed side, India, along with Kenya in the 12-team tournament. Bureau Report
