New Delhi, July 17: After three days of high drama, Union Railway Minister Nitish Kumar today said that he was taking back his resignation from the Union Cabinet. The minister was to leave for Rail Bhawan around 11:00 am in the morning.
Kumar had resigned on Monday following sharp differences within the Samata Parliamentary Party. Kumar, who stayed away from his ministry for three days, taking exception to corruption charges levelled by his own party MPs, changed his mind late last night after rebel MP Prabhunath Singh, who was said to have been the provocation for Kumar`s decision, met him for two hours and urged him to take back his resignation. After the meeting, Singh had indicated that Kumar would withdraw his resignation as all differences had been resolved. Bureau Report
