Mumbai, Oct 08: Dismissed CISF jawan Rajnarayan Namdeo, facing the charge of gunning down his senior at the airport four months ago, was today released from the central prison after he obtained bail from the sessions court. Namdeo was released at 8.45 am after he complied with the bail conditions, his lawyer Majeed Memon told a news agency.
Namdeo is charged with gunning down deputy commandant a Karanjkar on May 24 and holding six others hostage before surrendering to police. A sessions court had granted him bail on Monday in the sum of Rs 5000 cash in addition to a Rs 5000 surety, to be furnished by his father Lalata Prasad Namdeo, and a personal bond of Rs 500 to be submitted by his mother Umadevi.

The court also directed Namdeo to attend the sessions court whenever required. He has been warned to refrain from tampering with witnesses and directed not to leave Mumbai.

Police filed a chargesheet against him on August 22 and charged him with IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 342 (wrongful confinement).

Namdeo was dismissed from service soon after he was arrested. He allegedly disclosed to police that he had taken the extreme step of gunning down his senior because of the latter's arrogant attitude and refusal to grant him leave.
