Dortmund, Dec 03: High security in Germany for the Champions League match between Juventus and Galatasaray.
Fans of Juventus and Galatasaray have arrived at Dortmunds Westfalen stadium on Tuesday (December 2) amidst hightened security to watch the Champions League match after UEFA decided to move the game to a "neutral venue". For "security reasons", UEFA last week ordered the match to be held at the neutral venue of Dortmund following the latest bomb attacks in Istanbul on November 20 which killed 32 people and injured more than 400. According to the head of operations at Dortmund police, extra security measures are in place during the game. "We have intensified the entry controls, especially regarding fireworks," Michael Kuchenbaecker said. "For days we have been both inside and outside the stadium to look out for any manipulations on the stadium", he added.

The UEFA decision to move the match out of Turkey has caused outrage in the country and among Germany's more than two million residents of Turkish origin.

"They should have played in Istanbul, simple", Galatasaray fan Ercan Boslou told reporters.

Another fan shared that opinion. "There are bombs everywhere: there is ETA in Spain, the IRA in England - those games were not moved either. I dont think its right", Hadgy Jamal said.

"On the other hand, for us (living in Germany) of course it's a good thing because it allows us to see the game".

Galatasaray fans booed at the Juventus team bus escorted by police as it pulled up in front of the stadium. The mood quickly changed to cheering as the Galatasaray team bus arrived. Fans tried in vain to take photographs of their idols through the tinted bus windows as they approached the Westfalen stadium renamed by their fans into Ali Sami Yen Stadi.
