Patna, Sept 19: The BJP today demanded booking the incarcerated RJD MP from Siwan Mohammed Shahabuddin under Pota for allegedly having links with gunrunners of Jammu and Kashmir for his procurement of arms from them as reported in newspapers. Talking to reporters here, senior BJP leader and Opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that two gunrunners arrested by the J&K police had admitted during interrogation that they had AK 47 rifles and 50 china made pistols to Shahabuddin.

He said that there was no reason to doubt that the confessional statement of two gunrunners--Shabbir and Mushaq Ahmed Aga--who were arrested by the J&K police in August last year and booked under Public Safety Act.

The RJD could not claim that the arms smugglers had made the settlement under pressure from Bihar Police since they had been arrested by the J&K Police. ''Even Shahabuddin cannot claim that Bihar DGP D P Ojha, whom he has accused of framing him in false and fabricated cases, played any role in the entire episode,” Modi said.
