Pune, May 06: A deep depression over Lakshadweep has intensified into a cyclonic storm, about 50 kms north-east of Amini Divi near Lakshadweep. The cyclonic storm, situated at half a degree of latitude 11.5 degree north and longitude 73.0 degree east, is likely to remain stationary for some more time and subsequently move in a north-northwesterly direction slowly, the India Meteorological Department today said. It was difficult to say at this juncture as to where the cyclone was likely to head but the department was monitoring its movements, an IMD official said. Meanwhile, the met department has forecast rain at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Orissa in the next two days.
