Hindu editor`s car stopped, searched in Bangalore
Bangalore, Nov 08: A group of unidentified persons tonight stopped the car in which editor-in-chief of English daily `The Hindu` N Ram was travelling here and searched the vehicle.

daily ‘The Hindu’ N Ram was travelling here and searched the
vehicle.
City Police Commissioner S Mariswamy told reporters that four to
five persons speaking in Tamil stopped the car near a five
star hotel and searched for "someone".
After they came to know only ram And N Murali, Joint Managing Director of the daily, were in the car, they ran away, he said adding they did not cause any harm to the occupants.
The Tamil Nadu Police are on the look out for five senior journalists of the daily after the state assembly yesterday sentenced them to 15 days imprisonment for breach of privilege. A special team of Chennai Police arrived here this morning in search of the journalists.
The Commissioner, however, said it was not sure whether those who stopped Ram's car belonged to Tamil Nadu Police.
Ram was returning to the hotel after participating in a function organised as part of the 125th year celebrations of the daily in the city.
Mariswamy said further investigation was on.
