Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president and in-charge of Jharkhand Kailashpati Mishra on Saturday ruled out any change of guard in the state, saying the state government led by Chief Minister Babulal Marandi was doing well.
Talking to newspersons in Ranchi, Mr Mishra, who is here to attend the state executive of the party, said the Marandi government had lived up to the expectations of the party leadership. On the state of affairs in Jharkhand, he said the law and order problem was being tackled effectively. Extremism, he said, was a part of the global terrorism and charged the ultra outfits active in Jharkhand with having links with Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence.
To a query on a statement by the chief minister regarding newspapers, he said Mr Marandi must maintain certain restraint and try to understand the requirements of the different sectors. Mr Marandi had recently charged the media with working under the influence of the capitalist forces.
Mr Mishra said for streamlining the party activities in the state, steps were being taken against those allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
He said the party leadership had clipped the wings of party MP Salkhan Murmu following the reported stand taken by the latter in the state against the BJP-led government. Bureau Report
