Crowe recently caused controversy after claiming there are lots of roles for older female stars to play, but only if they are willing to portray characters suited to their age, reported the New York Daily News.

"I think he's getting his foot stuck in his mouth," she said before accepting the best supporting actress trophy the National Board of Review awards gala for her role in 'A Most Violent Year'.
Chastain feels the Australian actor could not have been more wrong, and she even advises him to take a visit to the movies.

"There are some incredible actresses in their 50s and 60s who are not getting opportunities in films, and for someone to say there are plenty of roles for women that age is someone not going to the movie theater," she said.
