Exams postponed due to non-teaching staff strike in Bihar
Patna, July 03: Examinations of B.A Part I and II have been postponed in Patna University and some other universities of Bihar due to an indefinite strike by 53,000 non-teaching staff of nine universities and 250 constituent colleges.

"The examination of BA Part II, scheduled to be held
tomorrow, has been put off due to the strike. Fresh dates
would be announced later," Patna University sources said.
Reports of BA Part I examination being postponed due
to the ongoing agitation have also been received from
Mithila university and B N Mandal Universities.
State University and College Employees Federation General
Secretary Ganga Prasad Jha told a news agency that the strike would continue till their demands were fulfilled.
The striking employees, owing allegiance to the university and college employees union, are demanding timely payment and fair disbursement of salary grants and regularisation of services of their colleagues working on an ad-hoc basis.
Employees of different universities and colleges were holding demonstrations and meetings to protest the government's alleged apathy towards their demands, Jha said.
