Paris, Sept 16: French star Zinedine Zidane believes David Beckham has settled down at Real Madrid following his 35 million euro move from Manchester United.
Zidane finished a 30 metre cross from Beckham with a glorious volley in Saturday's 7-2 thrashing of Valladolid that the England captain described as the best finish he had seen. "That's nice of him but I should say thank you for the opening," Zidane told L'Equipe sports daily. "It was a very good goal and my first of the season so it really pleased me."
With midfielder Esteban Cambiasso doubtful and defender Ivan Helguera out of today's Champions League clash with 1993 winners Olympique Marseille, Beckham might be forced into a deeper role.

But Zidane did not think he would fill the spot left vacant by Claude Makele's move to Chelsea.

"I don't know if David can play like Claude. He's never done it but against Valladolid he was really strong."

Zidane was looking forward to playing against his hometown club. "I dreamt about it, although I would have preferred to play them later in the competition," he said.

He did not know who his family would be supporting. "My family and friends are Marseille fans, like me," he said.
