Mumbai police allowed to take stamp accused to metropolis
Pune, May 25: The special court here today allowed the Mumbai Police to take Shabbir Shaikh, one of the accused in the multi-crore stamp paper case to Mumbai for investigation in a forgery case.

Police inspector Hemadi of Nariman Point Police Station was in Pune to seek custody of Shabbir Shaikh who is in Yerwada Jail.
According to the prosecution, Shaikh, owner of S S Services is accused of having sold counterfeit stamp to Jogani, a resident of Mumbai who was seeking loan from Bank of Baroda.
When Jogani's loan was not sanctioned by the bank, he returned the stamp papers to stamp office where a clerk suspected the it to be fake.
In January 2004, the report which came from Nasik Printing Press endorsed the counterfeiting of the stamp papers.
The special judge has asked the Mumbai Police to bring accused Shaikh before June 04, as CBI also investigating the scam.
In a related development, the special court today issued the production warrant of Mohammad Shaikh Mohammad Yasin, who is in Hyderabad Jail.
