New Delhi, May 07: The Delhi High Court today reserved its judgement on a plea by underworld don Babloo Srivastava challenging his prosecution for cases other than those for which he had been extradited from Singapore. After hearing the arguments, Justice R S Sodhi asked Babloo's counsel and Delhi Police to file written submission.

Babloo, who is contesting Lok Sabha election from Sitapur constituency in Uttar Pradesh, has contended that he has immunity from being tried for offence other than those for which he was extradited.

His counsel contended that for any other offence, the authorities here have to get the consent of the country from where the fugitive has been extradited.

Delhi Police counsel Mukta Gupta opposed the plea alleging that the gangster was involved in several crimes after being extradited.
Babloo, whose bail plea was yesterday rejected by the high court in a kidnapping-cum-ransom case, has contended that the cases after extradition were falsely made against him.

He has been charged along with others for kidnapping and demanding ransom of Rs 25 lakh from a Delhi-based businessman.

Babloo has been accused of masterminding from jail, the abduction of a businessman from Lucknow airport in March 2003.
Twelve cases are pending against Babloo, who has been operating in the country with the help of another Dubai-based underworld don Fazlur Rehman.

Babloo was extradited from Singapore for four offences.
