Mumbai: Narasimha Jayanti is observed on Chaturdashi, Shukla Paksh in the Hindu month of Vaishakha. This year, the auspicious day falls in May 20. Narasimha is the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who had appeared as half-man and half-lion to bring the tyranny of Hiranyakashipu to an end.

The Chaturdashi or the 14th day begins on 19th May at about 10.22PM and culminates on May 21st at 00:41 AM. 


Narasimha Jayanti Puja Timings


Madhyana Sankalpa time is between 11:04 AM - 13:42 PM on May 20.


The Narasimha Jayanti Sanyakal Puja timing is betweeb 16:21 PM - 18:59 PM on May 20.


The Parana time is 05.47 AM onwarad on 21st May.


Narasimha Puja Vidhi


If you don’t have a photo or an idol of Narasimha, you can perform the Puja with Lord Vishnu’s photo or idol.


Apply kumkuma, chandana and haldi.


Light an earthen, silver or brass lamp. Invite Narasimha Bhagwan to accept your prayers and offerings. Offer flowers, jaggery and sprouts to the God. Light incense sticks. You may also offer Tulsi leaves besides a coconut, two bananas, 2 paan leaves and supari.


Chant this mantra and seek blessings of the lord.


You may donate food to the poor on this day. Annadanam is the best way to serve humanity.
