Kolkata, Jan 28: The Calcutta High Court has given the go-ahead for setting up of a circuit bench at Jalpaiguri in north Bengal. High court sources today said that a full court meeting of the High Court gave the choice between two venues, namely the Nawab Bari and the European Club in the town, and the West Bengal government was asked to finalise any one for setting up the circuit bench till a new building for the purpose was constructed.
The full court, headed by Chief Justice A K Mathur, asked the state to select the venue keeping in mind the financial and infrastructural aspects.
A three-judge committee of the High Court had earlier visited Jalpaiguri to make an assessment of infrastructural facilities necessary for setting up of the circuit bench. Bureau Report
