Chennai, Aug 20: Two years after its present set of office bearers were elected here in September 2001, the bigwigs of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are assembling here for a two-day working committee meeting beginning today. It is customary for the working committee to meet on the eve of the annual general body meeting normally held on September 30, cricket board secretary S K Nair, told.
However, an important issue on the agenda will be the review of the graded payment for players which the board had introduced last year, he said.
The meet will begin with examining the finance committee reports on the morrow while other committee reports under scrutiny include reports of the grounds and pitches committee, various sub committees and annual accounts. The recommendations of the grounds and wickets committee to keep Green Park in Kanpur out as an international venue until all disputes were resolved would be taken up at the meeting.
The meeting will also discuss and review the arrangements being made for the home series against New Zealand and the tri series in which Australia will be the third team.
The ongoing conditioning camp in Bangalore to select the Indian team for the series against the Kiwis and the Kangaroos will also be under review.
