Ara, Oct 06: RJD president Laloo Prasad Yadav today said his party would provide monetary help to those whose shops and rickshaws were gutted in yesterday's communal clash in which two persons were killed and three injured in Bihar's Bhojpur district.
Yadav, who visited Ara town this afternoon with a host of state ministers, said the monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 each would be provided to those whose shops were set ablaze.
He directed the party's district unit to prepare a list of persons whose shops were burnt and said the money would be distributed among the victims after matching the list with the one prepared by the district administration. Addressing the victims on the campus of Lal Das Rai, MLC, here the RJD chief also asked the district administration to ensure that the rickshaws and handcarts that were burnt or damaged in the clash were either repaired or purchased afresh and distributed among them within a fortnight.
The government had ordered a high-level inquiry into the violence and those found guilty of breaking the communal amity would be severely dealt with, he said. Earlier, Yadav had charged the RSS with trying to spoil the image of Bihar by fomenting communal tension.
The RSS was hell bent upon disturbing the communal harmony not only in Bihar but across the country, he told reporters in Patna while leaving for Ara.
