Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 15: Kerala Chief Minister A K Antony, today refuted opposition charge that there was a "secret agenda" in the agreement reached between two communities for the rehabilitation of minority families that fled Marad beach after May 2 violence.
Talking to reporters after cabinet briefing, Antony said
government only ratified the accord reached between Hindu and
Muslim community leaders during a meeting in Kozhikode and
"there is no secret agenda other than this".
Stating that rehabilitation process in Marad was progressing, he said everybody should appreciate the give and take attitude by both communities in settling the issue without further violence.
"Everybody should co-operate with the administration in implementing the process," he said.
"Are they unhappy that the rehabilitation is taking place without blood-shed ?," Antony asked referring to the criticism of the accord by KPCC president, K Muraleedharan and opposition leaders. Bureau Report
