An `informal` meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Monday discussed the reported movement of Pakistani troops along the Line of Control and reviewed the situation in the wake of Thursday`s terrorist strike on Parliament house. External affairs minister Jaswant Singh told reporters after the meeting that home minister L K Advani would make a statement on Tuesday in Parliament on the terrorist strike.

To a question as to what the government was doing about the movement of Pakistani troops along the border as also reports of cancellation of leave of Pakistani military personnel, Singh said that the government was alert to the security situation.

Asked about steps being taken by the government, the external affairs minister said, “Home minister will make a statement in Parliament tomorrow. Whatever has to be told will be stated by him in Parliament.”

Besides Singh, the meeting was attended by Advani, defence minister George Fernandes, national security adviser Brajesh Mishra and top brass of the armed forces.
