New Delhi, Aug 06: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today condemned the "barbaric and inhuman" killings of innocent Amarnath pilgrims by militants at Nunwan near Pahalgam and asked the government to be more vigilant to avoid recurrence of such incidence.
"Gandhi has expressed her deep shock and anguish over the barbaric and inhuman incidence. She has condemned this cowardly act in strongest words,” party spokesman Satyabrat Chaturvedi told reporters here.
Gandhi blamed the government for its failure to protect lives of innocent people and of its promises in Parliament on taking concrete firm action when Kaluchak incident took place and expected that it would be more vigilant to avoid
occurrence of such attack.
