Govt proposes to amend food adulteration rules

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also invited objections and suggestions on the proposed draft within sixty days, an official release said here today.
The draft proposed the use of food additive in sugars, honey, salt, confectionary, chewing gum, bubble gum and chocolates, it said.
Objections or suggestions to the draft, which has been published in the gazette of India extraordinary dated July 18, 2003, should reach the secretary, department of health and family welfare by September 17, 2003, the release added. Bureau Report
