New Delhi: France's most famous cartoonist, Albert Uderzo, known for his famous series 'The Adventures of Asterix' came out of retirement after the deadly attacks on Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday.

The artist was good friends with one of the victims of the attack, Jean Cabu. The 87 year old came out in support of the victims posting a cartoon once again for the same

In an interview with a leading French daily, Uderzo said that he was devastated as his friends died in the attack. He said his friend Cabu's death is a huge loss, and he came back to the drawing board to pay tribute to the victims and to express my commitment to freedom of expression. 


Powerful backlash came from the news fraternity after Gunmen killed 12 people in an attack on Wednesday in the offices of the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo. 


Parisians took to the streets to condemn the attack with the slogan "Je Suis Charlie" (Translated - I Am Charlie)
