That is why she says she chose to titled her recent art collection 'Soliloquies'.

As part of the ongoing 56th National Art Exhibition at the Lalit Kala Akademi, the artist has put up over 30 paintings, all mixed media work in a digital environment.

"These works progress like a journey. They are like different instruments in an orchestra that are trying to achieve a harmony," says the artist who is a Fine Arts faculty at a college in Indore.

She sees these paintings as a synchronization of her head and her heart. Her head, because of the use of technology and her heart, because she is pouring her heart out on the canvas.

The paintings, she says incorporate moments that the artist felt close to. For instance, in a painting titled "We and a crow on the antenna", Dasgupta recalls fond memories of her family, while the cable antennas for televisions were still in use, before the influx of direct-to home connections.

As a tribute to the December 16, gang rape victim, 'Nirbhaya' Dasgupta creates the artwork titled 'Knife', which depicts an ice knife coming out of woman prostrate on the ground.

"I used the knife made of ice, as such a knife does not leave any traces behind of its existence. Likewise, rapes happen very often, but there is no trace of their misery and people carry on with their lives," says the artist who is an alumni of the prestigious Visva Bharti University, Shantiniketan.
