The legendary actor and car enthusiast bought the 930 Turbo, top speed 153mph, in 1976 and had a special switch installed to kill the rear lights if police were trying to catch him, the Mirror has reported.

The American actor also customised the slate grey Porsche with a sunroof, dual mirrors and sports seats before later adding larger wheels. This model was the last Porsche McQueen bought and he held onto it until 1978.

The car is being sold in Monterey, California and would normally be worth around 70,000 pounds, but because it was owned by McQueen it is believed it could go for a seven-figure sum.
