New Delhi, Oct 20: Allaying fears about shortage of onion and two other essential vegetables in the capital, Delhi administration today said the arrival of these had gone up over last week resulting in reduction of prices. Arrival of onion has gone up by 35 per cent while that of tomato has risen by 37 per cent and potato 31 per cent, a spokesman of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said.

He said onion has also started arriving from Rajasthan and Haryana.

On account of the increased supply, price of onion has been reduced from Rs 15-16 per kg to Rs 13.50 per kg, he said. Similarly, various grades and qualities of potato are available at prices varying from Rs 4.90 per kg to Rs 9.50 per kg. Tomatoes are available at maximum price of Rs 12 per kg.
