Mumbai, Mar 25: Spurred by over 30 per cent jump in India's trade with China, the bilateral exports and imports are expected to touch USD 10 billion mark soon, Maharashtra Governor Mohamad Fazal said today. "Our bilateral trade has been growing at an annual rate of 30 per cent and now the neighbour on the north accounts for four per cent of India's foreign trade," Fazal said after inauguarating the first China Guangdong Products Exhibition here.

There is a good scope for both the countries to increase cooperation in IT sector. While India's software exports to the world have touched USD 10 billion, China is the leader in computer hardware with total turnover of USD 25 billion in 2002, the Governor said.

Referring to the growth registered by Guangdong province of China, he said the exports from this province alone accounted for 35 per cent of China's total exports of USD 438.37 billion last year. Bureau Report
