Aizawl, Oct 28: Rokhawmthanga, a common candidate of the Zoram National Party and Mizoram People's Conference, today filed his nomination papers for the November-20 assembly poll in Mizoram. Stating this, state Chief Electoral Officer Lalmalsawma told reporters no report of any other candidate filing nominations had been received on the second day of filing documents.
Monday is the last date for filing nominations.
Meanwhile, the Janata Dal(U) has announced eleven names of its candidates including its state president Lalawmpuia Khiangte. More names would soon be announced, party sources said.
The BJP has said that it would contest 16 seats, but so far released only eight names.
The ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) is likely to announce names of all its candidates for the 40-member assembly tomorrow, MNF sources said.
