New Delhi, Oct 31: Apparently keeping in mind the sensitivity of the west, Air Chief S Krishnaswamy today said the Indian Armed forces' futuristic aerospace programme would entail use of space platforms only for command and control and not for weapon delivery. Citing the use of space platforms like satellites in command and control of military operations during the recent conflict in Iraq, he told a press conference here that India's futuristic aeropsace command would only be aimed towards such a cause. He said India was only at the stage of understanding space technology and would take some time to graduate to use of space. Replying to newsmen's questions on India moving to set up an aerospace command, Krishnaswamy said India programme was only for use of satellite for communication and reconaissance purposes and not for military use.
