Ahmedabad, Feb 08: Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) has signed a formal Gas Sale Agreement (GSA) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPCL) to supply re-gasified LNG to it. The agreement for purchase of one MMTPA from GAIL was signed by GAIL Chairman Proshanto Banerjee and GSPCL Chairman C K Koshy here Saturday night.

Speaking on the occasion, Banerjee said this was the third and largest RLNG gas agreement signed with Gujarat for gas consumer of the country.
"The GSA between GAIL and GSPCL marks the beginning of a new era in the gas industry in the state of Gujarat and we look forward to a multi-dimensional growth in our relationship, not just in Gujarat but other parts of the country as well," Banerjee said.Koshy said "this event takes Gujarat a step closer to fulfilling the dream of the state becoming the petro-hub of India".
Koshy said GSPC currently sells about four million cubic metres per day of gas and the purchase of RLNG from Dahej would increase the volume of gas to be sold by cent per cent. Bureau Report
