Gaya, May 12: One person was killed and five others injured today when criminals exploded bombs and opened fire at the district court here allowing 10 undertrials to escape, four of whom were recaptured shortly after the incident, Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh said. Unidentified criminals exploded three bombs and opened nearly 15 rounds of fire killing one person and injuring five, including a lawyer, Singh told.
Around 10 undertrials, who were brought to the court, escaped but four were recaptured.
Three undertrials present in the court were also injured in the attack.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.
The court premises has been vacated and raids were on to apprehend the escapees, he said.
