Dec 03: West Ham boss Glenn Roeder insists he has not lost the support of his players despite seeing his side slip to their 10th Premiership defeat of the season.

The Hammers remained bottom of the table after James Beattie's injury-time strike gave Southampton a 1-0 win at Upton Park.
But a defiant Roeder insisted he was not about to quit, and added, "I have got a lot of confidence in the players and they have got a lot of confidence in me."

Asked what he could do to turn the club's fortunes around, Roeder added, "Keep working hard, there is no other way."
