Eight Maoists killed in Nepal
Kathmandu, July 25: At least eight Maoists were killed in separate encounters with security forces in Nepal, where the rebels bombed a bridge in the country`s west, the defence ministry said today.
Kathmandu, July 25: At least eight Maoists were killed in separate encounters with security forces in Nepal, where the rebels bombed a bridge in the country's west, the defence ministry said today.
Three rebels were killed in Dhangaditole of Siraha district while two were shot dead in Raralihi area of Jumla district as security forces launched anti-terror operations.
Two armed rebels were killed in Khirakot district of Darchula district and one killed in Danda area of Bajura district, the ministry said adding troops recovered socket bombs, explosives, guns and pistols from the terrorists.
The rebels bombed a suspension bridge over Karnali river connecting two districts Humla and Mugu in western Nepal. Body of a suspected terrorist was also found during search operation in Varchheni area of Doti district.
The local people of Lamjung district handed over nine
guns collected from various terrorist hideouts to the security
forces.
