A Buddhist monk was arrested on Wednesday after he stormed Thailand's parliament security office with an AK 47 machine gun and took approximately 20 hostages, witnesses said. The monk, Pramaha Sayanjerasutho, 37, was escorted to Dusit police station for questioning, officials said.
Pramaha had gone to the security office at around 8:30 am (0130 GMT) and taken out an AK 47 machine gun hidden in his robes.

He took around 20 parliamentary staff in the room hostage and invited around 10 members of the press inside to interview him.
"Today I want to meet with the government, who can help me. I do not want to see Thaksin because he is the mastermind," the monk told a local radio station, referring to Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
The monk, from the southeast province of Chantaburi, demanded to see government representatives after claiming to have been harassed on many occasions by police for trespassing in national forests. Bureau Report
