Ganga, Fulahar cross extreme danger levels in Malda
Malda (WB), Sept 14: The Ganga and Fulahar maintained rising trend and crossed their extreme respective danger levels affecting about 1.30 lakh people of 150 villages in six blocks of Malda district in West Bengal.

While Ganga was flowing 66 cm above the extreme danger level of 25.30 mt, the river Fulahar had already crossed extreme danger mark of 27,300 mt and the level stood at 27,895 mt, irrigation department sources said here today.
The department has sounded red alert in the river basin areas of Kharba, Harishchandrapur and Ratua, the sources said. Besides, about 20,000 people had become the victim of erosion in the district.
The flood water continued to enter Sakullapur and Jotkasturi areas of Kaliachak II block.
Eight villages under Kaliachak block no 3 remained inundated for the third day today.
In Bhuti area about 500 people have taken shelter with their cattles on ring bundh. Bureau Report
