London, Apr 01: Such was Jyoti Randhawa's confidence his score would clinch him a berth in the British Open that he did not wait around in the clubhouse for the other golfers to return. Rather, Jyoti headed for KLIA to catch a flight back to India and when asked what would he do if there was to be a tie for the four berths available, Jyoti said it would not come to that.
"The pin placements are pretty tough out there and I do not think the others will be able to card good scores on the back nine," he said.
"If by any chance they do, then I suppose I will just have to give the Open a miss this time around. But I feel confident that I will be there."

And his prayers were answered as he emerged as one of the three players who returned scores of a total of five-under-par 139 at the Saujana Golf and Country Club. The others are: the Australian duo of Kim Felton and former club professional Scott Barr.

By making the tournament proper, Jyoti becomes the second Indian to earn a spot. He will now join Arjun Atwal at Royal Troon. Arjun earned his place in the world's oldest Major after finishing as the Order of Merit winner in Asia last season.
