Pondicherry, Oct 14: A regulatory order under the Poice Act was clamped in Pondicherry north region today in view of some labour unions' plan to take out processions and hold strikes. Superintendent of Police V J Chandran said in a communiation today. The order enforced today would remain in force till October 25 and those organising processions, meetings, demonstrations or other types of agitations should obtain permission atleast 24 hours in advance. The order does not however affect celebrations of marriages, government functions, religious festivals or holding of funerals.
