London, Aug 30: Cameron Diaz is the world's highest paid actress, snatching the title from previous winner Julia Roberts, Guinness World Records has said. Diaz is listed the biggest earner in the 2004 edition of the group's record book, based on earnings of 26.7 million pounds (US$42.2 million) in 2001.
Roberts was listed the world's highest paid actress in 2003 and 2002, based on her 2000 earnings of 13.4 million pounds (US$21.2 million) - substantially less than Diaz. The reported earnings of Diaz, the blonde star of 2003 action flick "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and the gross-out 1998 comedy "Something About Mary," are approaching the pay given to male actors in Hollywood.
The Guinness World Records book lists Adam Sandler as the world's highest paid actor, based on a salary of 31.3 million pounds (US$49.5 million) in 2001. But Sandler's winning pay packet pales in comparison to the 46.8 million pounds (US$73.9 million) earned in 2000 by Bruce Willis, giving him the 2003 title. Bureau Report
