New Delhi, Sept 01: Leading religious leaders of the capital would felicitate film star-turned-politician Sunil Dutt for his contribution towards promoting communal harmony,
at an inter-faith function here on September 10.
Bishop Karam Masih, Naib Imam of Fatehpuri mosque Maulvi Mohammad Mouzzam Ahmed, Swami Ganesh of Raj Rajeshwari Shaktipeeth, Ghasita Ram of Sachkhand Nanak Dham, Rev M S Luka and other religious leaders would felicitate Dutt at the meet being organised by the city-based Sanatan Sanskriti Sansthan.
"Dutt is highly respected throughout the country for his unflinching commitment to peace and religious tolerance. For years, he has been actively engaged in this task, reaching out to those who are needy and oppressed," Sansthan president Jagjiwan Bakshi said in a statement here. "At a time when vested interests are trying to drive a wedge between different communities and religions in the name of god, the Sansthan feels that the country needs people like Dutt who are true symbols of national integration and can work for such a cause," he said.
After taking over as chief of 'Sadbhavana ke Sipahi' (soldiers of goodwill), a non-political outfit floated by the Congress party, Dutt recently toured Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir. Bureau Report
