London, June 15: Soccer superstar David Beckham stepped back into the spotlight when he arrived back in the United Kingdom on Saturday following a trip to the United States.
The Manchester United and England midfielder, the subject of intense transfer speculation linking him to top clubs in Spain and Italy, landed at London's Heathrow airport with wife Victoria and children Brooklyn and Romeo. Beckham, 28, who has been awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday honours list, has been linked to Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan. All-star Real Madrid are believed to be the favourites to sign the soccer star and global fashion icon.
They are understood to have scheduled a meeting with Beckham on June 23. Meanwhile, Barcelona Presidential Hopeful Joan Laporte has pledged to sign the midfielder if he is elected in Sunday's (June 15) vote. The transfer fee expected to be in the region of 25 million sterling (41.8million dollars).
