Hyderabad, Oct 24: Satyam Computer Services has revised its recruitment figures for the financial year too. It will double hiring to 3,000 this year compared to 1,500 indicated at the beginning of the financial year. Total manpower strength as on September 30, ’03 stood at 11,250 associates as against 10,592 associates as on June 30 this year. In H1, net addition of employees in Satyam was 1,500 and the company will be adding 1,500 more.

Headcount is being upped to achieve the growth anticipated and also prepare for the coming year, Satyam CMD Ramalinga Raju said. Despite the effect on its near-term margins due to attrition, cost management and rupee appreciation, Satyam will hike associate salaries based on performance.
The hike in salaries effective from October 1 this year is expected to increase personnel expenses by an additional Rs 60 crore annually, said V Srinivas, Satyam’s CFO. Bureau Report
