New Delhi, Nov 05: A strong Indian contingent will begin its quest for an unprecendented fifth straight Hero Honda Masters title when the USD 300,000 prize money 14th leg of the Asian PGA tour gets underway at the Delhi Golf Club here today.
In the strongest ever assembly of golfers in the country as many as 47 Asian PGA title holders from 18 countries will participate, according to golf union sources here yesterday.
India`s Arjun Atwal, who is topping the Order of Merit list, and American Gerry Norquist lead the list with five titles each followed by India`s Jyoti Randhawa and Jeev Milkha Singh and Thai Boonchu Ruangkit and Thammanoon Srirot, who have four points each.
The hosts` team has 15 Asian PGA tour titles between them followed by the Thais` 13, who will indeed be a formidable challenge.
However, the largest contingents will be from United States with 15 players and Australia with 12 players.
