Ayodhya, Oct 16: The violence in 1990 and 1992 fresh in their minds, several Muslim families in this temple town have shifted to 'safer places' notwithstanding the elaborate security arrangements by the administration to foil Vishwa Hindu Parishad's "Devdarshan and Sankalp Sabha" tomorrow. Though the district administration says it is ignorant about any such shifting, residents of several Muslim localities claim that at least 20 to 25 families, had left the town and taken refuge elsewhere apprehending trouble during VHP's programme.

Locks at several doors in the predominantly Muslim areas of Gariwan Tola, Saidwara, Beghumpura, Quaziana and Kotia bear a mute testimony to their claim.

The family of Farooq of Gariwan Tola left a few days, said Rahees Ahmed adding that most of those who had left were staying in some secluded place.
