Road to stardom: John Abraham zooms in: The Hindustan Times
Mumbai, Nov 08: John Abraham is tired of being labelled Bollywood`s posterboy. John, onetime runway regular, Bipasha Basu`s current flame and the man who has one of the best bodies in Bollywood, doesn`t like the `himbo` tag that a certain section of the media is inflicting on him. `I am reasonably good-looking but that doesn`t mean I have to live with this good looking dude who can`t act tag. I know I am a decent actor and people who`ve seen me in Jism and Saaya have congratulated me.`

John, onetime runway regular, Bipasha Basu’s current flame and the man who has one of the best bodies in Bollywood, doesn’t like the ‘himbo’ tag that a certain section of the media is inflicting on him. “I am reasonably good-looking but that doesn’t mean I have to live with this good looking dude who can’t act tag. I know I am a decent actor and people who’ve seen me in Jism and Saaya have congratulated me.”
John’s Bollywood innings has been a mixed bag. Jism, his launchpad (which created ripples for his body-baring act with Bipasha Basu) was a success, while the much-hyped Saaya crashed at the box-office before you could blink. John reunites with Bipasha in Vikram Bhatt’s Aetbar and admits working with her is a pleasure. “Our real rapport shines through romantic scenes but a good actor doesn’t have to get real in films, we have to master the art of making the unreal seem possible.”
John who’s also wrapping up Vikram Bhatt’s next project, is unruffled by Bipasha’s friendship with ex-flame Dino Morea: “You have to give your love lots of space. I can’t expect her to turn her back on Dino just like that. It’s tough to ignore someone you’ve been close to. I am not insecure about Bipasha. If we are destined to be together John’s Bollywood innings has been a mixed bag. I am also a fitness fanatic who works out for 30 minutes every day. I like to party, watch films and have dinner with Bipasha when I can.” Superstardom? John wouldn’t mind another hit, but, for now: “Life’s perfect, I am doing good films and God has been kind to me.”
