New Delhi, Jan 30: The Congress remained ambiguous on whether party president Sonia Gandhi's children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra would join politics and contest Lok Sabha elections.
Party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters here that Gandhi had said her children would decide on their own about the issue.
Asked about further developments in Kerala on K Karunakaran's decision to float a new party, he said, ''Matters rest where they were last evening when Pranab Mukherjee briefed the press.''
On the proposed alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy said the party was open to adjustment of seats or alliance with any party opposed to the BJP or the Telugu Desam Party. However, the TRS was not prepared for the alliance, the Congress leader said.
On the possibility of simultaneous poll in Karnataka, he said the issue would be decided by the Chief Minister and the PCC chief together in consultation.
Replying to a question on reports about the Congress having received oil from Iraq in exchange for support extended to Saddam Hussein and the JD(U)'s demand for the party's explanation, the party spokesman quipped, ''let the JD(U) collect the same (evidence) and give it to the party.''
