New Delhi, Aug 13: Prospects of an end to the stalemate in Parliament on the issue of denial of CVC report on Kargil arms purchases to the Public Accounts Committee appeared unlikely today with the main opposition Congress stating tonight that it was "not satisfied" by the government's stand in the matter.
"The problem remains unresolved. We are certainly not satisfied", party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy said after a meeting of the political affairs committee of the Congress presided by party chief Sonia Gandhi.
Noting that the problem in Parliament had arisen owing to "unwillingness of the government to be transparent", he said when asked about BJP spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra's statement that there was no such CVC report on Kargil arms purchases.
Asserting that it was not a matter between the opposition and the BJP, he wondered why government itself has maintained silence on the issue and its spokesman has not made any such statement authoritatively.

Besides, he recalled as to how Defence Minister George Fernandes, who is in the eye of a storm on the issue, had earlier expressed readiness to show the report to the PAC chairman.

The meeting chaired by Gandhi dwelt on various issues before Parliament a day after the BJP-led coalition announced that it planned to bring a number of bills including one to ban cow slaughter and another on statehood for Delhi in the current session itself.
